Hetalia – Wedding Gift
“You know, you really don't have to kick up such a fuss, mon ami! You're drawing more attention to yourself that way,” the Frenchman said in exasperation, dragging his uncooperative friend into an expensive clothes shop. “Really now! You are such a child!”

The Englishman was looking more dishevelled from his usual resistance against his long time friend and rival. “It's your fault for denying me my tea this morning, you twat! If you had let me get ready properly before dragging me to the shops then I might have been more compliant.”

Francis knew that was a lie but wisely did not comment. Tensely he bit out, “This is a fashion emergency! I have seen your wardrobe, Arthur. It is a disaster! You can do far much more than that, you have ze figure for more fashionable gear, I do not know why you fail to embrace it.”

“Because I'm not a vain fucker like yourself?” the Briton shot back, scowling as the Frenchman looked through an array of expensive suits. “I have suits at home! I can spend my money on more important things, you know!”

“What, like tea?” Francis quipped sarcastically.

“Yes!”

Now it was Francis' turn to get angry. “Mon Dieu! You are so stubborn! You are attending Antonio's wedding! Even you have to agree that you must look your best!”

Arthur scoffed and critically surveyed Francis choose a few crisp-looking suits from the rack. “I don't even know why I was invited when he still resents me for setting his bike on fire at school! That was a long time ago!”

Francis rolled his eyes. “Oui. It was a long time ago! That is why you have been invited, you silly Englishman! Now come, come! You will try these outfits on and I will not take no for an answer!”

Arthur grumbled but complied, yanking the neatly-pressed suits out of Francis' hands. “YOU are paying for any clothes on this escapade, okay?”

These two could fight like cats and dogs, but no matter what they still cared enough about each other to tolerate their friend.

“I'll buy this one,” Arthur said grumpily, exiting the changing room in a navy suit.

Francis smiled. “C'est très beau!”
France (Begging to England) [V3] Francis should know by now that to earn an Englishman's co-operation, you never deny them their morning tea.

Prompt: (FrUK) Arthur goes clothes shopping with Francis.

Originality: While a funny one-shot for the couple, a prompt like this seems nothing truly mind-grabbing or any way original in the sense that it is trying to do something new. Instead, it seems like a normal day in the lives of the characters. However, I do think the situation where Arthur set fire to Antonio's bike was the most interesting part of the story, even if it was just a mention of the past.

Technique: The use of French words thrown here and there made the exerpt better. The mixing of two different languages gave it a more realistic touch while not getting pretentious and using whole phrases in French. Good job for that
.
Impact: Like the originality portion of the review, this prompt did nothing to invoke deep thought for the reader nor did it make the reader feel any type of emotion (aside from potential shipping) to provide an impact in the writing. It was just a funny short story of their life and what would potentially happen if these characters actually went shopping together
