Hetalia – Love Divided: Chapter 2
Co-written by AskHetaHazardEngland and Vee-Pasta

England's expression sank as he lost his grip on the glasses. Water splashed all over the floor and glass shards littered his feet.

Dammit, it's worn off already? Germany will kill me if he finds out!
he thought in a mild panic.

England held up his hands in universal surrender. "Italy! Italy, I won't hurt you. I can explain..."

CAN I explain?! He obviously doesn't remember the potion!

Italy looked at England with small tears in his eyes but calmed down enough to speak English and lower his flag. "W-what are you doing here England?" he asked, completely oblivious to the previous events. Looking at the shattered glasses he immediately walked over. "Vee.. are you okay? The glass didn't hurt you did it?" He was obviously a little scared but concern for the other showed in his eyes.

So bloody naïve. Damn, this will be hard...

England sighed and averted his eyes, folding his arms. Do I tell him the truth? I knew he would react badly to me. He doesn't remember! He didn't realise that the hurt was showing on his face. I guess this proves that even potions will never change how a person really feels once it wears off... I was at least hoping for a friend. A pity...

Italy frowned when he noticed England's hurt expression and wrapped his arms around him in a tight hug. "Are you okay?" he asked. This time it had nothing to do with the glass.

"I-I'm fine." He stared down at the glass on the floor. I suppose I should clean this up to stop the hyperactive Italian from hurting himself. "I'll just clean this up and then I'll leave."

Italy made eye-contact. "N-no, stay... Please? I'll clean it up."

England shook his head, blinking away tears he only just noticed had started to form.

"No, don't be stupid, you'll cut yourself or something. I'll see to the glass. After all... it's all my fault. I've caused you enough trouble in one day." More trouble than you can comprehend. He walked over to what he assumed was the storage cupboard, guessed correctly, and picked up a dustpan and brush. He returned to clean up, avoiding the Italian's gaze all the time, ashamed.

Italy put his hand over England's and pulled him away from the mess "Vee England, you haven't caused me trouble. It was just an accident." He smiled. "Come on, let's go hang out and take care of the mess later."

England was puzzled. "Wh-what?" Is he normally this nice? Or maybe he pities me. Bollocks, I'd rather he fear me than pity me! I don't want pity!

A dark aura surrounded the Brit subconsciously as his mind deviated.

He then calmed down and looked at Italy, remembering something from earlier.

"Um, Italy... Do you mind if I ask you a question?" he asked nervously.

Italy shivered and whimpered slightly when he felt the dark aura coming from England, wondering if he did something wrong. He relaxed once England had calmed down and Italy looked up at him curiously. "Um, sì? What is it?"

Well, here goes nothing.

England forced a smile. "I wanted to make you some scones!"

Italy blinked in surprise and bit his lip thoughtfully. "Vee.... Sure! Okay. Why not?" He smiled.

England was floored.

"EH?!?!" He honestly didn't know whether to be pleased, elated, worried or down-right HORRIFIED that Italy was accepting. Holy... He WANTS my cooking? I mean, everyone SHOULD, but he always makes such a show about not touching it. Maybe the potion made him sick. Crap, it probably did. Now Germany and Romano will both have another reason to end me...

He frowned in suspicion. "You... you want to try my cooking?" Oi, England, you're proud of your cooking, stop doubting it just because of peer pressure. "Seriously?"

What happens if I burn down the kitchen? I don't want arson on my list of offences.

Italy laughed lightly at the other's astonishment. "Sì, seriously! I'll try it," he replied confidently. England couldn't be that bad of a cook.

England's mood became genuinely happy!

"O-oh. Okay then. I'll make a start on them, then!" Regardless of his earlier troubles, such as burning down the kitchen, he raided the pantry for the ingredients and set to work...

((Okay so here I was about to say something flattering when all of a sudden I saw "WARNING: discussion of England's cooking".  Dude-  you just made me laugh so hard-  xD

But-  ahem- aside from that- hm this has peaked my interest and I'm very interested to know what will happen next and what's going on with Italy!  And how England's going to handle it, of course!))
